With each patch bundle released for Operations Center our focus is on providing fixes for important customer identified bugs. Patch Bundles typically are fixes and from time to time contain enhancements, Patch Bundle 3 contains SEVERAL enhancements.
The first thing to highlight for customers using Operations Center, when customizing your Service Views, there are more options out of the box. Traditionally Service Views were ways to show iconic representations of existing Services and Technologies, with the new features, you will be able to add more to those views. Specifically, if the underlying tool monitoring the Service contains Performance data, or you have set up Operations Center to capture metric data via a Profile, you can now add new NodeStyles to your Layout Service view via simple right-clicks.

As you can see, there are several charting options such as Line and Bar Charts. Once a chart is added to the Layout drawing, there are several menu driven settings that can be adjusted. Mixing a view of a Service such as Insurance Claims Processing with a near real-time chart of active claims being processed now provides a wider view of the overall health and availability of the Service.

Not only can you chart Performance data, we also turned on the ability to chart your Availability for SLA's!!!

Sometimes charts are not appropriate and you are looking for some type of Gauge to show the most recent Performance metric and potentially a trend over time. Operations Center will now provide several Gauges out of the box to allow an administrator to customize a Layout view with simple right-clicks.

Based on the type of Gauge, there are additional settings that the administrator can leverage to customize it further, again, via menu driven settings.

For those of you who routinely build custom Nodestyles, there is a new feature to preview your customizations. Essentially, when you are under the Graphics/Nodestyles area and building a custom Nodestyle, you now will have the ability to set a specific Element/View in order to see realtime the customizations you are performing. This improvement specifically gets rid of the need to flip back and forth between the NodeStyle editing and testing it out under a Service Model or an Adapter.
The other important improvements contained within this Patch Bundle are around our Adapters/Integrations. We have upgraded several adapters to support newer versions, specifically, we are now supporting:
Operations Center is truly unique in its ability to display in real-time the current state of a service, focusing attention on what matters in simple terms by mapping out a complex service end -to-end, correlating loads of management data providing real-time health and now detailed performance and availability all within a single view.
Enjoy the new features!
